Punchbowl, with its seasonal labour demands, aims to create a positive, international work environment with a vibrant mix of cultures.  We are a family business with an extended family of employees.

 

We have a peak seasonal labour demand through April, May, and June during the kiwifruit harvest with a secondary peak through July, August and September.  During our peak period the packhouse requires staffing for a range of activities including grading, packing, forklift, quality control and a number of other disiplines.  The packhouse runs a nine hour day shift and a 5-6 hour evening shift normally 6 days a week.  Working hours can range from 30 to 70 hours a week depending on the work load and the individuals willingness.

 

To work at Punchbowl prior fruit industry experience is helpful but not at all essential. We commit to fully training all new employees in all aspects of the work.

 

Working at Punchbowl is an ideal fit with young travelers to our shores on a Working Holiday Visa and we aim to actively promote and assist this Visa Holder.  This can be an opportunity to top up the travel bank balance by taking advantage of the high New Zealand fruit industry seasonal labour demand.
